The history of Great Bay Distributors began when Claude Focardi started working for Anheuser-Busch right after college. He became the Executive Office Assistant to August A. Busch Junior. August Busch mentioned to Claude Focardi 'I like to do something for you before I leave. Would you like a distributorship?' ‘Of course’ he said. Claude announced to his family that he was going to be a brewer distributor in St. Petersburg, Florida.

When the Focardi family arrived to Florida in 1968, the distributorship was in a hut. The dilapidated look of the building was an eye sore. Not before long, it was exciting to see the building go from a dilapidated hut and a few trucks to a family of employees just in few months. The employees at the time had a spirit and a determination to grow.

And that’s what separates us from the other distributorships, and other companies, is the people. Great Bay Distributors has a great family of employees.

The beer business is difficult. It is a physically demanding and mentally challenging business. We represent Anheuser-Busch to the utmost standards and quality in the beer industry.

It’s wonderful to see Great Bay making great strides to improve the distribution industry, especially to help advance the beer industry with beta testing of new software and equipment. Great Bay Distributors has become, and continues to be, the guiding and unifying force in the industry.
